* The heartbreak of 1936, after a 7 - 0 start to the season the Bulldogs had to play undefeated Class B Otsego. The game was a scoreless fight until late in the game when the Bulldogs had successive negative plays a 12 yard loss and a bad snap on a punt that lead to a safety and a 2 -0 victory for Otsego.
* The rivalry between Vicksburg and Three Rvers dates back to 1922 when Three Rivers began playing football.
* Did you know there is a Trophy that honors the rivalry between the Three Rivers Wildcats and the Vicksburg Bulldogs? Well there is, at one point it was a flag until it got tethered and wornout, today it's a cast iron bone for the winners to claim. Go Bulldogs!!

* 1967 Team lead Wolverine Conference in scoring and total offensive yards gained.
* Wolverine Conference Record: 1967 Ken Fox set a new individual scoring record - scoring 10 touchdowns plus ,making 7 extra points and field goal = 70 total points.
* Merritt Harper (1928 era) has quite a legacy, one season the team didn't have money for any equipment so he set-up a game with Kalamazoo who was known for drawing large crowds. Knowing the Bulldogs would be outmaned didn't matter as the purpose was to raise money for the Bulldogs program. The arrangement was Vicksburg would get a percentage of the gate which they did, Bulldog football survived.
* Harper taught Agriculture and coached football, basketball, baseball and track a very busy guy.
* In the early days of football there were no buses so the Head Coach had the responsibility to arrange/recruit drivers to take the players to games.

* Coach Mike Blough greatest memory was not the Conference Title of 1967, it was his first win as the Head Coach in 1962 when the Bulldogs were huge underdogs against Hackett the result was a great upset. A big surprise to the much larger Hackett team.

* 1959 Average Yards Per Carry - 7.7 yards by Steve Barrett
* 2018: Versus South Haven Caleb Welch 25 carries, 353 rushing yards and 8 touchdowns, third player in Michigan football history to achieve such statistics. Reliable sources claim Caleb didn't even play in the fourth quarter!
* The 1965 Junior Varsity team was not only undefeated they were unscored upon leading to a 1967 Varsity Conference Championship with an 8 - 0 record.
* In the 1967 season finally Ken Fox booted a game winning field goal (10-7) with 3 seconds remaining on the clock securing the Bulldogs undefeated season and conference championship.
* Joe Gembis of the 1930 team played 3 years for the Michigan Wolverines prior to turning Pro and playing for the Ironton Tanks, After his Pro career Joe spent his lifetime coachig at Wayne University.
* Speaking of the 1930 team their defensive record stands today giving up only 12 points for the entire season, holding second place is the 1928 team which gave up 13 points.
* 1955 Wolverine Conference Record: Most Kickoff Return Yards - D, Grimm 270 yards
* In 1930 there were no playoffs so with it's undefeated record Vicksburg made claim to the Class C tilte however, Chelsea (also undefeated) made a similar claim to settle the matter Jerry Hagen editor of the Kalamazoo Gazette arranged a game between the two. The game ended with Chelsea havng the ball on the Vicksburg 3 yard line, end result Vicksburg 6 Chelsea 0.
* Larry Grubka has many memories of success as a player and team member however, the one that stands out for him is Andy Schink shaving in the eighth grade and playing varsity football 4 years.
* Sports Illustrated: November 1977 The Vicksburg Bulldogs were covered by Sports Illustrated - Novemer 14, The Senior Season and November 21, In the End, Defeat and Pain. Copies are available for reading in the District Library and from a few individuals that have maintained the magazines.
* The 1923 season was one to remember, not only is it the first year that records exist the team was 9-1-1 and scored 305 points!
* Sweet revenge, in 1951 Kalamazoo Hackett defeated the Bulldogs spoiling their undefeated conference season, the 1952 season was 8 - 0 highlighted with a victory over Hackett securing the Conference Championship.
* 1959 Season Wolverine Conference individual statistical leaders: Tom Reece 28 points, Dales Simonton 26 points, Ray Butler 241 passing yards, Tom Reece 457 total yards, Dale Simonton 32.7 yard punting average, total offense Vicksburg 1552 yards, rushing yards Tom Reece 450 yards average 7 per carry, Dale Simonton rushing average 9.1 yards per carry 327 total yards, pass receiving Glenn Willis 128 yards, interceptions 3 by Dale Simonton the game has certainly changed in 60 years.
* In the final seconds of the game versus Paw Paw in 1964 QB Craig Smith ran for a loss of 23 yards giving up a safety to preserve the victory. The play is known as the most unusual play of the season.
